Wife of BUMN Bank Branch Head Breaks Down in Tears at Trial: Child Prays for Father to Return Even Briefly
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The wife of the branch head (Kacab) of a state-owned bank, Mohammad Ilham Pradipta, namely Puspita Aulia, cried during her appearance at the Military Court II-08 in Cakung, East Jakarta, on Monday (11/5/2026). Puspita appeared as an additional witness in the trial related to the alleged murder case involving her husband. Initially, the military prosecutor asked Puspita whether their two children already knew that their father had passed away. “They might not know directly, but there was a moment when the younger one finished the dawn prayer, he prayed ‘O Allah, forgive father, O Allah protect father there, O Allah, may father come here even for a short while’,” said Puspita while crying. Puspita was then calmed by a psychologist from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) who accompanied her. “So they might not express directly what they feel, but through what they do, I understand they are disappointed, that’s enough permission from me,” she said. Puspita admitted she was shocked when she heard the news that her husband had been kidnapped and eventually declared dead. Puspita also said she was confused when she received information about the kidnapping because at that time she was only with their two children, aged 10 and 8 years. “So I was confused about what to do. That’s why I contacted the family to inform those I thought of, like the victim’s older siblings and my younger sibling,” she stated. Previously, the Jakarta Military Prosecutor’s Office charged Serka Mochamad Nasir, Kopda Feri Herianto, and Serka Franky Yari in the premeditated murder case related to the death of Mohammad Ilham Pradipta at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta. Military Prosecutor Major Chk Wasinton Marpaung stated that the actions of the defendants fulfilled the elements of the criminal offence as regulated in Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 459 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, as well as in conjunction with Article 20 letter a of the same law.
