Wife Mugged While Looking for Sahur Meal in Bekasi; Husband Rams Attacker

A woman narrowly escaped becoming the victim of a mugging while she was searching for sahur food in Taman Galaxy, South Bekasi District, Bekasi City, West Java, on Tuesday (3/3) at around 03:30 WIB.

‘There has been a crime of theft with violence in which the victim was riding a motorcycle in tandem with her husband, three men intercepted them, one of whom was carrying a sickle,’ said South Bekasi Police Chief Kompol Dedi Herdiana when contacted on Friday (6/3).

During the incident, the three perpetrators attempted to seize the motorcycle ridden by the victim. Her husband then arrived from behind and rammed into one of the perpetrators.

However, the mugging attempt was thwarted by the husband of the victim, who at that moment rammed the perpetrator with his vehicle from behind.

‘Then the husband of the victim who was behind them rammed the motorcycle he was riding toward the perpetrators and hit one of them,’ Dedi said.

As a result, one of the perpetrators fell to the ground. The other two perpetrators managed to flee the scene.

The perpetrator who was captured was handed over to the authorities for legal processing. Meanwhile, the other two are still being pursued.

‘For the two perpetrators who escaped, as of now searches are ongoing and they have been chased to several locations, but have not been found,’ Dedi said.
