Wife in Tangerang Surrenders to Police After Stabbing Husband to Death

EA, a 25-year-old woman in Tigaraksa, Tangerang Regency, Banten, surrendered to the police after stabbing her husband, Andi (53), to death.

DetikNews, citing Antara, reported on Friday (6 March 2026) that Purwanto, the secretary of RT 02 RW 03, said based on initial information the homicide occurred on Thursday (5 March) afternoon.

According to Purwanto, local residents only learned of the murder on Friday (6 March) around 11:30 WIB after investigators from Polresta Tangerang conducted a crime-scene examination.

“At first I learned of it after being assigned by the village head with information there is a person dead. Then I arrived; police officers were already there and accompanied the crime-scene examination,” he said.

Purwanto explained that based on the crime-scene examination, at the house there was a dead man lying rigid on the bed.

“When I saw the body, it was in the bedroom. The position was prone, not clothed, wearing long trousers, the body already stiff with many stab wounds (more than three) on the legs, arms, and waist,” he said.

Explanation from Polresta Tangerang

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasatreskrim) Polresta Tangerang, Kompol Septa Badoyo, said the perpetrator surrendered to the police after killing her husband.

The Forensic Investigation Team (Inafis) of Satreskrim Polresta Tangerang immediately carried out the crime-scene examination and evacuated the victim’s body for autopsy.

“Yes, that is correct, we will carry out the crime-scene examination; we will update developments later,” he explained.

Septa stated that investigators are still examining the suspect and awaiting autopsy results.

“Please give us time to handle this case; we are still conducting investigations so as not to misreport,” he concluded.
