An Australian national with the initials SDJ (56) is suspected of killing his two children, ADS (6) and LKS (4), before taking his own life at a bungalow in Legian, Kuta, Badung, Bali. His wife reportedly heard cries of ‘stop, Daddy’ while on a telephone call with her husband.

The head of the Bali Regional Police Public Relations Division, Kombes Ariasandy, said that SDJ’s wife had been in Jakarta since four days earlier, while SDJ and the two children were staying at the bungalow.

On Sunday (13/9/2026) at around 08.30 local time, the wife tried to contact her husband. During the call, she heard one of her children crying.

“Earlier, when she telephoned her husband, she heard her child crying and could not reach him again afterwards,” Ariasandy said, as reported by detikBali on Monday (14/9/2026).

Not only crying — SDJ’s wife also heard the voice of her daughter, LKS. The child was heard pleading with her father to stop.

“During that communication, the victim’s daughter could be heard saying ‘stop, Daddy’,” Ariasandy added.

After that call, SDJ could no longer be reached. This prompted his wife to contact the bungalow’s owner to ask for help checking on the family.

Several hours later, SDJ and his two children were found dead at the bungalow.
