Wicked Scheme: Bima Boarding School Leader and Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing 10 Students
A sexual violence case within a boarding school (ponpes) has occurred again. This time, a man identified as RS (50) is suspected of sexually abusing multiple students in Belo District, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
Worse still, the heinous acts were carried out by the school’s leader alongside a teacher identified as SY. Both have now been arrested by police.
“Yes, both have been taken into custody at Bima Police Headquarters,” said Iptu Mahfuddin, Head of the Women and Children’s Protection Unit (Kanit PPA) of the Bima Police Criminal Investigation Department, on Friday (29 May 2026).
According to detikBali, RS and SY were arrested and held at Bima Police Headquarters on 9 May. They are suspected of sexually abusing 10 students, most of whom are in Year 7 and Year 9.
The case began with a community report.
Mahfuddin explained that the wicked scheme by the school’s leader and teacher was uncovered after receiving a community report, leading police to immediately detain the two suspects.
“Those detained are RS, the ponpes leader, and SY, a teacher at the institution,” Mahfuddin explained.
Mahfuddin could not provide detailed information on the alleged sexual offences committed by the school leader and teacher, but stressed police would pursue the case to its conclusion in accordance with the law.
“The case will be investigated thoroughly in line with applicable laws,” Mahfuddin stated.
Victim Support
Mahfuddin revealed the Women and Children’s Protection Unit will also engage psychologists to support the victims, with psychological assistance ongoing throughout the case proceedings.
“We are also focusing on the psychological recovery of the victims,” he added.
