Wicked scalpers at Pulogadung
Wicked scalpers at Pulogadung
From Media Indonesia
A friend of mine and three of his family members were cheated by scalpers at the Pulogadung bus terminal on Oct. 28.
After they had arrived at the terminal at about 6:30 p.m. from outside Java, a small group of scalpers approached them and pulled on their bags to get them to follow them. They could do nothing but go along with them to a bus ticket office at Timbul Jaya. The four of them were forced to pay Rp 370,000 for fare to Pekalongan and were promised to that it would be an executive bus.
To their great surprise, they found that the so-called executive bus was a rickety economy class bus without any air conditioning.
To make matters worse, they had to pay another Rp 120,000 on top of their fare for four people and upon arriving home they found that the contents of their bags (a small tape recorder, binoculars and fishing gear worth about Rp 2 million) had disappeared during the journey. The bus crew had put all their bags and luggage at the back of the bus.
We appeal to the terminal authorities to take decisive action against all scalpers who steal passengers' belongings.
