Why people commit corruption
Why people commit corruption
From Kompas
It makes us wonder why some people with established status, sufficient wealth and savings as well as a luxury living standard have become perpetrators of corruption syndicates.
What surprises us even more is the fact that those involved in embezzlement are mostly in their advanced age, with a lot of grandchildren. This reflects how greedy they are, while they should show repentance and get closer to God for a peaceful life.
In fact, when they die they have no way of carrying wealth to their graves. As they only need to pay funeral costs and other related expenses, do they really have to commit corruption for this purpose? Anything that leads to excess is negative.
It is tragic to see parents or grandparents being talked about in public for their notoriety rather than their merit. Such people no longer have prestige and cannot serve as models any more. They have lost their personality and they are just an an embarrassment.
Everybody wants to live a decent and even abundant life, which is very human. But this should be achieved by honest means without harming public interests. Now, how can they enjoy life in prison while their family members are in luxury? It is noble to lead a moderate life, as satisfaction has no limits.
