Why ORI30 is Suitable for Beginner Investors
The government has recently opened the offering for the Retail State Bond, known as the ORI030 series. Novi Puspita Wardani, Director of State Debt at the Ministry of Finance, stated that this state securities instrument (SBN) is suitable for retail investors, particularly beginners.
According to Novi, ORI030 features a product structure that is easy to understand, with characteristics that are safe, simple, and affordable. “It is safe because the payment of principal and coupons is guaranteed by the state under the Law, meaning the risk profile is very low. It is simple, as it can be purchased online through 29 distribution partners, and affordable, as the minimum order amount starts from Rp 1 million,” she told Tempo on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.
Novi also explained that these state securities possess characteristics that meet the needs of many retail investors. In addition to being legally guaranteed, the instrument can be traded on the secondary market once the minimum holding period has ended. The holding period is the duration during which holders of ORI030T3 and ORI030T6 are not yet permitted to transfer the ownership of their ORI. Ownership of ORI030T3 and ORI030T6 can be transferred starting from 16 September 2026.
“With this combination, the government believes that ORI030 remains an attractive investment choice for the public,” said Novi.
The purchase process for ORI030T3 and ORI030T6 is conducted in four stages through 29 distribution partners, consisting of 18 commercial banks, 7 securities firms, and 4 mutual fund selling agent companies. The ordering process is as follows:
- Registration
Registration can be completed by contacting one of the 29 distribution partners. Prospective investors can register via the electronic system provided by the partner by inputting details such as personal data, Single Investor Identification (SID) number, Fund Account number, and Securities Account number. For prospective investors who do not yet have an SID, Fund Account, or Securities Account, they may contact the distribution partner for assistance.
- Ordering
Once registration is successful, prospective investors can place orders for ORI030T3 and ORI030T6, after first reading the terms outlined in the Information Memorandum. Ordering can only be performed during the offering period.
- Payment
After the order is verified, prospective investors will receive a billing code via email or SMS, depending on the policy of their respective distribution partner. This billing code is used to deposit investment funds through the Perception Bank.
- Confirmation
Following payment, prospective investors will receive a State Revenue Receipt Transaction Number (NTPN) and a ‘completed order’ notification, and will receive their allocation of ORI030T3 and ORI030T6 on the settlement/issuance date. After settlement, investors can request Proof of Ownership for ORI030T3 and ORI030T6 from their distribution partner.
