Why Has the Padel Court in Pulomas, Which Residents Have Protested, Not Yet Been Demolished?
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The East Jakarta Sub-department of Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs (Sudin Citata) has revealed the reason why the padel court in Pulomas, East Jakarta, which residents have protested, has not yet been demolished.
The Head of Sudin Citata East Jakarta, Wiwit Djalu Adji, said that the building still has a Building Permit (PBG), although it does not yet have a Certificate of Functionality (SLF).
“Regarding the demolition, we see that this building still has a PBG. Also, it does not have an SLF, so for now, we will only seal it,” said the Head of Sudin Citata East Jakarta, Wiwit Djalu Adji, at the location of the padel court, Thursday (26/2/2026).
In addition, the process of revoking the PBG is currently underway at the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP).
Before it is revoked, the PBG is still considered valid.
“Therefore, we are taking two actions: action against the technical violations of the PBG and the violation of the building operating without an SLF,” said Wiwit.
Previously, Sudin Citata East Jakarta sealed the padel court in Pulomas, Kayu Putih Village, Pulogadung District, East Jakarta, on Thursday (26/2/2026) afternoon.
The padel court, which is located in the middle of a residential area, has been protested by residents for several months.
Kompas.com’s monitoring at the location showed that the sealing was carried out by the Sudin Citata team, accompanied by the Satpol PP (Public Order Agency), the Head of Pulogadung District, Syafrudin Chandra, and the Head of Kayu Putih Village, Tuti Sugihastuti.
Upon arriving at the location, the Sudin Citata team met with the security officers of the padel court to explain the purpose of their visit and ask the owner of the padel court to be present.
Shortly after, the owner of the padel court arrived and immediately coordinated with the officers. The owner and the Sudin Citata team then entered the area of the padel court to carry out the sealing of the interior and install a boundary line.
Previously, residents filed a lawsuit regarding the issuance of the Building Permit (PBG) by the East Jakarta City Government through case number 214/G/2025/PTUN.JKT.
“Yes, of course, we want it to be closed. In accordance with the law. The government has acknowledged that there was a mistake in issuing the warning letter. We have also won at the Administrative Court. The ruling revoked the permit. Revoke the permit first, even though there is an appeal,” said a resident named Zul at City Hall, Jakarta, Tuesday (24/2/2026).
