Minister of Information Harmoko once said that TVRI, the state
television station, did not broadcast advertisements. Television
advertisements were only broadcasted by private television
stations, and TVRI would receive a certain percentage of the
yields.

In my opinion, TVRI should also be allowed to broadcast
advertisements so that the station has its own financial
resources.

The broadcast of the Liga Dunhill soccer tournament is an
initial step for TVRI to further broadcast advertisements. This
way society can be excluded from the burden of paying television
tax. I think all the people will be glad if TVRI can also
broadcast advertisements.
