A researcher from the Center of Reform on Economics (CORE), Dipo Satria, has urged the Danantara Investment Management Agency to deliver its financial reports in a timely manner. “This is a good initial step, but Danantara still needs to prove a more disciplined standard of governance going forward,” Dipo said in a written statement on Friday, 3 July 2026.

The statement was made in response to Danantara’s plan to announce its consolidated financial report for 2025. The move is seen as a way to strengthen governance and transparency in the management of state assets. According to Dipo, the existence of a consolidated financial report could be crucial for Danantara, particularly in building a more integrated management standard aligned with global sovereign wealth fund (SWF) practices. “However, when we talk about a commitment to governance transparency, merely releasing a report is not enough.”

Dipo explained that good governance transparency is not solely measured by the existence of a financial report. More importantly, the timeliness of reporting must be a key focus. He suggested that Danantara should deliver its financial reports on time and ensure they contain complete information regarding asset management and an independent audit process. Consolidating the financial reports of all state-owned enterprises is a positive step, demonstrating an effort to build a more integrated and comprehensive reporting system.

According to Dipo, this effort can serve as a foundation for strengthening oversight, increasing efficiency, and creating greater added value for the state. He expressed hope that the consistent application of good governance principles would build public and investor trust in Danantara. Therefore, he stressed the importance of strengthening the sustainability of governance reforms and improving the quality of financial reporting to further solidify the institution’s credibility.

Previously, Managing Director of Stakeholders Management and Communications at Danantara, Rohan Hafas, stated that the financial report would be released after the audit process is complete. “It will be submitted after the entire audit process is finished in accordance with the provisions of the legislation,” Rohan said in a written statement on Thursday, 2 July 2026. He noted that the financial reports of individual state-owned enterprises had already been completed as of 30 June 2026 and are accessible on their respective official websites. Meanwhile, Danantara’s consolidated financial report is being audited by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).

Rohan added that Danantara has begun realising its investment mandate through a number of strategic investments funded by state-owned enterprise dividends received in 2025. A portion of the dividends has been allocated to support projects of strategic value for national development, expected to generate long-term economic benefits. These projects include Kampung Haji dan Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and a waste-to-energy project aimed at sustainable waste management and enhancing energy security. Rohan emphasised that all investments are carried out by prioritising good governance principles, investment discipline, prudent risk management, and a focus on long-term value creation for the state and society.
