TANGERANG – The participation of Indonesian health equipment industry players in the World Health Exhibition (WHX) Dubai 2026 represents a strategic opportunity to expand global market access, particularly in the Middle East and Africa regions, which continue to record growing demand in the health sector.

WHX Dubai is one of the largest health industry exhibitions in the region, bringing together producers, distributors, and stakeholders from various countries. This event is considered an important gateway for Indonesian products to broaden business networks and explore export opportunities.

Several national companies are utilising the exhibition to initiate cooperation with potential international distribution partners. This step forms part of the strategy to strengthen market penetration while enhancing the competitiveness of Indonesian health equipment products on a global scale.

The Indonesian health equipment products displayed at the event fall under the medical devices category, adhering to international health sector standards and regulations. This serves as crucial capital for expanding distribution to various countries.

General Manager of MagicPower, Terence Bouman, stated that participation in WHX Dubai is a strategic move to open new market access and expand the global network.

“This participation is a momentum to broaden international networks and open distribution opportunities in new markets. The Middle East and Africa regions hold significant potential for the growth of the health equipment industry, including products from Indonesia,” he said.

He added that expansion into global markets is expected to drive increased exports while contributing to the country’s foreign exchange earnings.

Government support further strengthens this initiative through the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Dubai and the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in the United Arab Emirates, which actively facilitate the promotion of national products in international markets.

Head of ITPC Dubai, Widy Haryono, views international exhibitions as a strategic means to expand market access and improve the export performance of Indonesian products.

“International exhibitions open opportunities for business actors to broaden business networks and increase exports. Indonesian health equipment products have the potential to compete in the global market,” she explained.

She noted that in 2025, the value of Indonesian health equipment exports to the United Arab Emirates reached USD 74,400, marking a growth of 48.73% compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Arab Emirates, Judha Nugraha, emphasised that the participation of Indonesian business actors in international exhibitions is part of strengthening national economic diplomacy.

“The presence of Indonesian companies in Dubai is part of efforts to expand market access and strengthen trade cooperation between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates,” Judha stated.

Participation in WHX Dubai 2026 is expected to serve as a concrete step in driving the expansion of the national health equipment industry, while also strengthening Indonesia’s position in the global health industry supply chain.
