JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Passenger numbers on the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Rail (KCJB), known as Whoosh, remain high during the 2026 Eid holiday period. By the end of March, the number of tickets sold approached 300,000. PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded that for the travel period from 13-30 March, the total tickets sold reached 293,000. For today’s departures on Sunday (29/3/2026), the tickets sold amounted to 12,000. This number is estimated to increase to nearly 20,000 passengers, given that sales are still ongoing until the last departure schedule. KCIC Corporate Secretary General Manager, Eva Chairunisa, stated that the high passenger volume during this period indicates significant return traffic from the Bandung area to Jakarta and its surroundings. “Along with the high passenger volume during the return flow period, the public is urged to book tickets immediately to avoid running out, especially for popular departure schedules in the afternoon and evening from the Bandung direction,” said Eva. KCIC reminds that Whoosh tickets can be booked through various official channels, from the Whoosh application, official website, to partner platforms such as Access by KAI, Livin’ by Mandiri, BRImo, Wondr by BNI, Tiket.com, Traveloka, and Trip.com. For passengers from the Bandung area, KCIC also suggests utilising the KA Feeder service to Padalarang Station. This service is considered capable of helping passengers avoid potential traffic jams to the station, making the journey more scheduled and on time. KCIC also urges passengers to arrive early at the station, at least 30 minutes before departure. This is because the boarding process will be closed five minutes before the scheduled departure to maintain safety and smoothness of the journey.
