Whoosh Passengers Reach 21,500 as Lebaran Return Flow to Jakarta Strengthens
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded a high volume of Whoosh passengers during the 2026 Lebaran transport period, continuing an upward trend. For departures on 24 March 2026, the number of passengers has reached around 21,500 and is projected to continue increasing until the final trip, in line with ongoing online and offline sales.
“The increase in passengers during this period shows the beginning of the Lebaran return flow, where people are returning to Jakarta to resume their activities. Whoosh is chosen because it offers fast, comfortable, and punctual travel,” said KCIC General Manager for Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (24/3/2026).
Eva stated that this figure continues the high trend from the previous day, where on 23 March 2026, the number of passengers reached around 23,000 in one day. She said that today’s high passenger volume is dominated by movements from Bandung towards Jakarta.
“This is evident from the high occupancy of departures from Padalarang Station, which have been fully sold out since the midday schedule around 13:00 until 18:00,” Eva added.
Eva conveyed that KCIC also projects another increase in passenger volume on 28 to 29 March 2026, coinciding with the end of the Lebaran transport post and the resumption of school activities on 30 March 2026. Cumulatively, the number of Whoosh passengers during the Lebaran transport period from 13 to 30 March 2026 has reached around 220,000 and is estimated to continue rising in line with high public mobility during the Lebaran holiday.
KCIC urges the public to plan their trips well and book tickets early through all official Whoosh sales channels, both online and offline, to ensure ticket availability according to the desired schedule.
“The high enthusiasm of the public towards Whoosh services is motivation for us to continue delivering reliable and quality services. We also thank the public for their trust and wish everyone an enjoyable holiday moment with family,” said Eva.
