Whoosh Passengers Increase by 11.3 Percent During the 2026 Lebaran Transport Period
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded an increase in Whoosh passenger volume during the 2026 Lebaran transport period. From H-8 to H+3, or 13-25 March, the number of passengers reached 224,827, up 11.3% compared to the same period in 2025, which recorded 202,007 passengers.
The temporary peak of the 2026 Lebaran transport occurred on Tuesday, 24 March 2026, with a volume of 24,315 passengers in one day. This figure is higher than the 2025 Lebaran peak of 23,462 passengers, an increase of about 3.6%.
KCIC President Director Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi stated that the Whoosh passenger volume this Lebaran transport period shows a very positive trend.
“Up to now, the highest daily passenger number was recorded last Tuesday with 24,000 passengers. This figure is 3.6% higher than the peak achievement of the 2025 Lebaran transport, which was 23,462 passengers,” she said in an official statement on Thursday (26/3).
Her side sees a continued high demand trend and projects it will remain above 20,000 passengers per day until the end of the weekend, with potential for another increase at the end of the holiday period as people return to activities.
In addition, KCIC also projects a rebound increase on 28 to 29 March 2026 as the Lebaran transport period ends and school activities resume, along with the conclusion of the work from anywhere (WFA) policy.
This increase demonstrates the high mobility of the public during the Lebaran holiday period, as well as the growing interest of the public in using Whoosh as the main mode of transportation for intercity travel.
