Whoosh High-Speed Train Serves 573,780 Passengers During School Holiday Period
PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded that 573,780 passengers used the Whoosh high-speed train during the school holiday period from 13 June to 12 July 2026. General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa expressed appreciation for the high public interest, noting that Whoosh became a primary choice during the year-end holiday. “With a short travel time, easy connectivity to various feeder modes, and access to numerous tourist destinations in Jakarta and Bandung, Whoosh offers a practical mobility solution during the school holiday period,” Eva said. She noted that the average daily passenger volume consistently exceeded 20,000 per day during the period. “During the school holidays, the daily passenger volume for Whoosh increased by around 26.5 percent, from a range of 16,000 to 18,000 passengers on regular days to 20,000 to 23,000 passengers per day,” Eva explained. The peak was recorded on 3 July 2026, with 23,408 passengers in a single day. Throughout the period from 13 June to 12 July 2026, the Halim-Padalarang route recorded the highest volume with 206,009 passengers, followed by Padalarang-Halim with 199,886 passengers. Meanwhile, the Halim-Tegalluar Summarecon route served 70,803 passengers and Tegalluar Summarecon-Halim served 62,074 passengers, indicating high mobility along the Whoosh corridor. To support the high travel demand, KCIC operated 62 Whoosh trips per day during the period.
