The Whoosh high-speed train, service number G1039 travelling from Halim Station in Jakarta to Tegalluar Summarecon Station in Bandung, came to a halt at KM 117 in Leuwigajah, Cimahi City, West Java, on Sunday (19/7/2026) at approximately 4.11 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. The stop was caused by a foreign object entering the railway track area. Manager Corporate Communication of KCIC, Emir Monti, confirmed that the disruption was due to a kite entering the line and interfering with the train’s progress. After safety preparations were made, officers handled the object for about four minutes, between 4.15 p.m. and 4.19 p.m. Once the handling was complete, the Whoosh train resumed its journey at 4.24 p.m. and operations returned to normal. Monti stated that the handling did not take long after officers shut down the entire electrical network. He added that kite-related disruptions have become increasingly frequent in recent weeks, with the most incidents occurring along the stretch from Padalarang to Bandung.
