Whoosh daily passenger volume forecast to rise 15% during long holiday period
Bandung (ANTARA) – PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) has forecast a 15% increase in daily Whoosh passenger volume during the long holiday period coinciding with Waisak Day and Pancasila Day.
Eva Chairunisa, KCIC’s General Manager of Corporate Secretary, stated that Whoosh ticket sales have reached approximately 12,000 tickets, with an expected total of around 20,000 passengers.
“This represents a 15% increase compared to regular daily passenger volumes,” Eva said in Bandung on Saturday.
She noted high travel demand was evident from occupancy rates exceeding 80% on departures from Halim Station between 7:00 and 12:00 WIB.
“The passenger volume increase is predominantly driven by leisure travel from Jakarta to Bandung,” Eva added.
KCIC attributed the rise in passenger mobility during the long holiday to various services and facilities provided at stations and aboard the Whoosh train.
“Whoosh offers various travel-supporting facilities, including charging stations and power outlets in station waiting areas and on board for passengers’ devices,” Eva explained.
However, KCIC reminded passengers not to use additional power terminals, high-wattage devices, modified equipment, or any other usage that could compromise safety and comfort.
Passengers were also urged not to forcibly remove devices or leave electronics unattended while charging.
“Power outlets at stations and on Whoosh trains are provided to support passengers’ personal device needs during travel,” Eva stated.
