TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) investigators questioned a foreign national as a witness in the alleged money laundering case involving the former Deputy Attorney General for Special Criminal Acts (Jampidsus), Febrie Adriansyah. Anang Supriatna, the Head of Public Relations of the Attorney General’s Office, revealed that the foreign national was presented by one of the suspects as a mitigating witness.

“Indeed, there was a scheduled questioning of a foreign national witness yesterday. The witness was presented by the DR (Don Ritto) camp,” said Anang to journalists at his office in South Jakarta on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Based on information received by Tempo, the AGO scheduled the questioning of the foreign national to explain the crypto transactions conducted by Febrie, which was denied by Anang. “No, not for crypto,” he said.

Anang mentioned that the questioning of the foreign national had been conducted around two weeks ago. “Friday, August 21, 2026, if I’m not mistaken,” he said.

Tempo sent a confirmation message to Don Ritto’s legal representative, Handika Honggowongso, via WhatsApp, regarding the questioning of a foreign national presented by his client. However, as of the writing of this article, there has been no response.

Tempo also confirmed the information to Febrie Adriansyah’s legal representative, Febri Diansyah. Febri stated that they actually intended to present an expert in the previous questioning, not a mitigating witness.

“And for Pak FA, there has been no proposal to present a foreign witness. I don’t know about other suspects,” he said in a written message.

AGO named Febrie Adriansyah and Don Ritto as suspects in the alleged money laundering case. Don Ritto is a fellow alumnus of the Faculty of Law, University of Jambi, same as Febrie. According to Jambi Ekspres, Don Ritto was Febrie’s junior.

Based on information obtained by Tempo, their relationship goes beyond sharing the same campus. “Don Ritto is the nominee for non-movable assets belonging to FA (Febrie Adriansyah),” said an internal law enforcement source.

Tempo’s investigation into the documents of the Directorate General of Legal Administration of the Ministry of Law showed that Don Ritto is listed as the Commissioner of PT Kantor Omzet Indonesia. The company manages Koin Money Changer in Cipete, South Jakarta, which was also searched by the investigators of the Corruption Eradication Commission of the Indonesian National Police (Kortastipidkor Polri) and the Jakarta Metro Regional Police.

The investigators suspect that the search of Koin Money Changer is related to the alleged bribery case of PT Asabri, corruption in the supply of coal, which is suspected to be behind the Sumatra blackout, and the alleged corruption of PT Krakatau Steel. From that location, the police seized 71 pieces of evidence and cash in 16 different foreign currencies, equivalent to around Rp7.2 billion.

Based on the documents, Don Ritto is also listed as the Commissioner of PT Declan Kulinari Nusantara. The company oversees the de’Clan Signature restaurant in Cipete, South Jakarta, which was also searched by the investigators. At the location, the investigators found a safe about two meters high hidden behind a wardrobe on the second floor of the cafe.

The safe contained cash in Indonesian Rupiah and various foreign currencies, with a value amounting to Rp60 billion.

Both Febrie and Don Ritto denied connections to each other.
