Who Really Is Aman Yani, the Man Valued at Rp750 Million by Dedi Mulyadi?
The figure of Aman Yani has now become the subject of public pursuit after West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi announced a Rp750 million bounty for anyone who finds him.
The name Aman Yani emerged after one of the defendants accused him of being the mastermind behind the murder of an entire family in Paoman, Indramayu, West Java, in August 2025.
The killings left five members of one family dead. They were Haji Sahroni (75), Budi (45) who is Sahroni’s son, Euis (40) who is Budi’s wife, RK (7) and B (8 months).
The bodies of all five were found on 1 September 2025. Police subsequently arrested two individuals, Ririn Rifanto (36) and Priyo Bagus Setiawan (30).
Both defendants have recently stood trial.
In the proceedings, Ririn named five perpetrators. Priyo then named other individuals whom he claimed were the principal perpetrators of the murder, namely Aman Yani, Joko, Yoga, and Hadi.
Priyo said Aman Yani was involved in an argument with Budi. He said the argument related to a debt of Rp120 million unpaid since the previous year.
Priyo claimed he was asked to help bury the bodies in a single grave and to clean up bloodstains. Priyo also claimed that Yani gave Rp8 million in cash, jewellery, and offered Rp100 million for keeping quiet.
The family doubted the testimony because Aman Yani has been missing since March 2016.
At that time, Aman Yani, who had resigned from his job at one of the state-owned banks, bid farewell to his mother to migrate to Bandung.
The family tried to locate Aman Yani and circulated information about a missing person in 2020, but his whereabouts remained mysterious.
Since Aman Yani disappeared, there have been a number of anomalies.
Aman Yani’s younger brother, Uyat Suratman, said he was once asked by someone to impersonate Aman Yani to release his pension, including being asked to forge a power of attorney.
Furthermore, in 2018 the family received a message from someone claiming to be a lawyer representing Aman Yani.
Rp750 million bounty
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi formally announced a Rp750 million bounty for anyone who can locate Aman Yani.
Through his Instagram account, Dedi Mulyadi posted a video meeting Aman Yani’s younger sister.
“I met Aman Yani’s younger sister, who is not here today. Whether he is alive or not, whether he is visible or not, or perhaps he has died,” Dedi was quoted as saying on Friday (22 May).
Dedi also showed a photo of Aman Yani. He said Aman Yani is a mysterious figure because he is accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of Haji Sahroni.
If he is alive, he asked Aman Yani to return home. Because Aman Yani’s pension funds while he was working had been cashed by a lawyer named Khotibul under Ririn’s instruction.
Dedi said there was a signature purportedly of Aman Yani on the documents to withdraw the pension, even though the signer never met Aman Yani.
“Firstly, whether Mr. Aman Yani remains in Indonesia or abroad, you know there is already a confession from Khotibul’s lawyer that your pension funds were taken by Ririn and the confession includes a power-of-attorney signature from you. Even though the grantor and the grantee have never met, this is the strangest incident,” Dedi said.
Dedi said that if Aman Yani is alive and returns to Indramayu to meet his family, he would repay the pension money and increase the amount.
“Come back if you are still alive. That pension fund was Rp400 million; I will top it up to Rp750 million and give it to you, but you must come back. Return to Indramayu to meet your wife, your children and family, even though his wife has become a former wife,” he said.
Dedi also offered the bounty to anyone who could locate Aman Yani.
“If anyone finds Mr. Aman Yani I will also give Rp750 million. Please bring Mr Aman Yani back to Indramayu. That is my message to everyone; may this matter be resolved quickly and Aman Yani must be found, whether alive or dead,” he said.
