Who must obey the law?

From Warta Kota

The leader of the Crescent Star Party (PBB), who is also the minister of justice and human rights, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, violated campaign rules by campaigning in south Jakarta while not on leave (Warta Kota, March 15).

Based on a decision by the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD) on the technical guidelines for election campaigning by members of regional representative councils and provincial legislatures, public officials taking part in the campaign must take unpaid leave in advance.

The Jakarta Election Monitoring Committee promptly sent a warning letter to the regional board of the PBB in Jakarta. Meanwhile, many other officials who are also political party executives have also violated campaign rules.

What example will be set by other ministers if the justice minister commits violations? Yusril, in his capacity as justice minister, should have been well informed of the law. Or did he purposely disobey the rule because his superiors refused to take leave to campaign?

So, who is supposed to obey the law now? Only the ordinary people?
