Who faces bigger threat than nuclear's?

JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri is deeply concerned about the nuclear crisis on the Korean Peninsula, but had to postpone a meeting with the North Korean foreign minister in order to attend to matters with a more direct political implication.

Megawati rescheduled a planned meeting with visiting North Korean Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun, as she needed to prepare for the live public dialog on Wednesday evening.

"You know there is going to be a debate later today (Wednesday), so we have to reschedule the meeting with North Korean foreign minister for Thursday," an aide told The Jakarta Post.

The ASEAN summit closed on Wednesday, less than a week ahead of the July 5 presidential election and on the same day as the first of the two-day live public dialog featuring all candidates was broadcast nationwide. -- JP
