Who does KORPRI
Who does KORPRI work for?
From Rakyat Merdeka
With reference to the explanation made by the central board of the Indonesian Corps of Civil Servants (Korpri) in Rakyat Merdeka of June 9 edition, I believe that Korpri is yet to reform itself and change its feudalistic nature as an organization.
It is usually the case that members of the executive board of Korpri are not democratically elected as they are certain people with certain positions in government agencies.
Then in the case of a complaint lodged by civil servants of III c rank about their small amount of insurance from PT Taspen (Rp 7,681,800), the central board of Korpri should have shown their deep concern because the complaint had merit. Just imagine, you join the savings and insurance scheme from TASPEN for 26 years and you get only Rp 7.6 million (about US$700). Actually, the central board of Korpri is meant to defend its members.
Then about the Askes health insurance. Of the 80 percent of the participants in this health insurance scheme, there are many examples that justify improvement of the scheme.
It is very clear, then, that regardless of what the central board of Korpri has done so far, which, of course, deserves great appreciation, there are still many things that the central board of Korpri can improve to make sure that it really defends its members.
