Who Attended the Defence Minister's Meeting with Retired TNI Generals?
Jakarta - Indonesia’s Minister of Defence gathered several retired generals from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at the Ministry of Defence on Friday (24/4/2026). The guests arrived one by one, disembarking from their vehicles before entering the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Hall for the closed meeting. The retired personnel present hailed from all three branches of the TNI. From the Indonesian Army, attendees included TNI General (Ret.) Wiranto, TNI General (Ret.) Gatot Nurmantyo, TNI General (Ret.) Andika Muhammad Perkasa, TNI General (Ret.) Agustadi Sasongko, and TNI General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman. From the Indonesian Navy, those present included TNI Admiral (Ret.) Agus Suhartono, TNI Admiral (Ret.) Yudo Margono, TNI Admiral (Ret.) Siwi Sukma Adji, TNI Admiral (Ret.) Marsetio, TNI Admiral (Ret.) Ade Supandi, and TNI Lieutenant General (Ret.) Mar Muhammad Alfan Baharudin. Meanwhile, from the Indonesian Air Force, attendees were TNI Marshal (Ret.) Djoko Suyanto, TNI Marshal (Ret.) Imam Sufaat, TNI Marshal (Ret.) Ida Bagus Putu Dunia, TNI Marshal (Ret.) Agus Supriatna, TNI Air Marshal (Ret.) Imran Baidirus, and TNI Air Marshal (Ret.) Hadiyan Sumintaatmadja. In addition, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, Deputy TNI Commander General Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Tonny Harjono, and other Ministry of Defence officials also attended the meeting. Before journalists were asked to leave the room, Sjafrie expressed thanks for the presence of the invitees at the gathering. “We need to inform you that we have not provided much information to the public so far,” said Sjafrie during the meeting. “This is because building the nation’s defence strength does require attention related to publications,” he added. Sjafrie stated that he would convey essential points regarding defence strategy, to be followed by additional explanations from the TNI Commander.
