Whiz Hotel Pemuda Semarang Offers "Harmony Hari Raya" Promo, Targeting Mudik Travellers and Families
SEMARANG - Ahead of Eid 2026, the hotel occupancy trend in Semarang is facing its own challenges. Although there is still potential for an increase during the peak period, the occupancy rate in the early Ramadan period tends to be lower compared to the previous year. Hotel Manager of Whiz Hotel Pemuda Semarang, Agung Purnomo, revealed that changes in travel patterns are one of the factors affecting this situation. “The hotel occupancy trend in Semarang ahead of Eid 2026 tends to be lower in the early period compared to last year, influenced by changes in travel patterns and the ease of access via the Bawen to Ambarawa toll road or functional free. However, during the peak Eid period, the occupancy rate still has the potential to increase to around 80-90 percent, although with a tendency for guests to stay shorter and make last-minute bookings,” he said to the Merapah Trans-Jawa 2026 team on Thursday (19/03/2026). Meanwhile, Whiz Hotel Pemuda Semarang provided support to the Merapah team by offering a one-night stay. Agung added that the room booking pattern at the hotel he manages has also changed compared to previous years. “Peak bookings H-3 to H-1 before Eid. Currently (early to mid-Ramadan), occupancy is still around 40-50 percent. However, during the peak Eid period, it is projected to reach 80-90 percent occupancy, following the Semarang city trend. Interestingly, most reservations currently come last minute or which is indeed the characteristic of the Semarang market,” said Agung. Agung explained that ahead of Eid, there is a significant shift in the profile of guests staying at Whiz Hotel Pemuda Semarang. “Dominated by business guests and corporate guests. Ahead of and during Eid, it shifts to mudik travellers (transit guests), family and leisure travellers,” he explained. “In addition, we also see a trend of shorter stay durations (1-2 nights), more domestic guests than international. This means Semarang during Eid turns into a leisure and transit city,” he said. To welcome the mudik moment and Eid holiday, the hotel is presenting a special promo to attract domestic tourists. “Room package at Rp 645,000 including breakfast for 2 people and free welcome drink for 2 people,” revealed Agung. Visitors can enjoy Nusantara dishes, such as authentic pecel peyek to Chinese food.
