Hamilton, Canada (ANTARA) – A White House official stated on Friday (29 May) that President Donald Trump would only pursue an Iran nuclear deal under US conditions following lengthy talks in the Situation Room.

“The President will only make a deal that is good for America and meets his demands,” the official told Anadolu.

The high-level meeting, which lasted around two hours, reaffirmed the government’s firm stance on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

“Iran will never have nuclear weapons,” the official added.

This comes amid ongoing US-Iran nuclear negotiations, with Washington insisting any agreement must adhere to strict conditions set by the president.

Trump previously wrote on his Truth Social platform that he would meet White House officials to make a “final decision” on a proposed deal to end the conflict with Iran.

He outlined elements he believes should be included, such as Iran’s commitment to never acquiring nuclear weapons and reopening the Strait of Hormuz for unrestricted commercial shipping.
