The White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has stated that United States and Israeli military operations against Iran will cease once military objectives are achieved.

“Operations will end when the supreme commander determines that military objectives have been achieved, fully realised, and that Iran is in a position of complete and unconditional surrender, regardless of whether they state it or not,” she said during a press conference, according to Al Arabiya on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Leavitt also stated that the operations are proceeding well and ahead of schedule.

“We know that the US military and our brave fighters are swiftly and efficiently accomplishing these objectives far faster than the timetable,” she told the media.

She further emphasised that the operational objectives are to “destroy Iranian missiles and their capabilities, to destroy their navy, to permanently prevent them from possessing nuclear weapons forever, and of course, to weaken their evil terrorist proxies in the region.”

Since 28 February, Israel and the United States have launched attacks against targets in Iran and struck their naval forces in the Arabian Gulf and surrounding areas. Iran, in turn, has launched retaliatory attacks against Israel and US military bases in the region, striking countries in the Middle East and Caucasus, as well as blockading the Strait of Hormuz.
