Washington (ANTARA) - The White House expects to receive Iran’s response via intermediaries on Friday (27/3) evening local time regarding the 15-point plan proposed by the United States (US) for a possible ceasefire to end the US-Israel war with Iran, according to a CBS News report.

US President Donald Trump and senior White House officials have been informed that Iran’s counter-proposal is likely to arrive on Friday via intermediaries, revealed two sources familiar with the matter.

Steve Witkoff, the US special envoy, stated at the White House on Thursday (26/3) that the Trump administration had conveyed the plan to Iran through Pakistan.

The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the plan calls for Iran to dismantle three major nuclear facilities and cease all forms of uranium enrichment in Iranian territory, suspend its ballistic missile programme, limit support for proxy groups, and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The White House is attempting to arrange a meeting in Pakistan this weekend to discuss a way out of the US-Israel war with Iran, CNN reported on Wednesday (25/3), citing two senior US officials.

The US and Israel launched large-scale airstrikes against Iran on 28 February, which disrupted global shipping, drove up oil prices, and shook the world economy.
