White Crater waters recede due to prolonged drought

Aerial photography shows the receding water conditions at the Kawah Putih tourist site in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java, on Friday (4/9/2026). Management at Kawah Putih stated that the water level in the lake has receded up to 70 metres from the edge since the beginning of August 2026 as a result of a prolonged drought.

Visitors can be seen at the Kawah Putih tourist site, where the water levels are shrinking in Ciwidey, Bandung Regency, West Java. The Kawah Putih management confirmed that the lake’s surface has retreated 70 metres from the banks since early August 2026 due to the ongoing dry season.
