Whip Pink user suffers temporary paralysis following N2O use, police reveal
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Directorate of Narcotics Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) revealed that a consumer of N2O gas branded Whip Pink, identified as AM, experienced temporary paralysis. The information was obtained during the interrogation of AM on Friday, 29 May 2026, as part of the investigation into the manufacturer of Whip Pink.
“AM stated that the use of Whip Pink N2O gas is strongly suspected to have affected his health, necessitating intensive treatment at a hospital in Tangerang,” said Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crimes (Dirtipidnarkoba) at Bareskrim Polri, to journalists in Jakarta.
He revealed that AM lost control of his limbs, particularly his legs, while being transported to the hospital. “AM suffered temporary paralysis and fell down the stairs at his home,” he added.
He stated that this aligns with expert testimony from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) regarding the effects of direct N2O use without strict medical supervision, which can cause peripheral neuropathy.
The condition, he continued, involves damage to peripheral nerves outside the brain, with symptoms including numbness, tingling, and loss of coordination.
“AM is still undergoing recovery from the suspected effects of using Whip Pink N2O gas,” he added.
He also revealed that AM first encountered Whip Pink N2O gas at a club in North Jakarta, sold in balloons. AM then ordered the product directly via Instagram, which directed him to the Whip Pink WhatsApp admin.
“He has been purchasing Whip Pink N2O gas for personal consumption since January to March 2026,” he said.
Eko further stated that the agency has also interrogated another witness identified as CD.
CD, he said, ordered Whip Pink in 640g and 950g sizes more than five times between mid-2025 and early 2026. CD searched for “WHIP CREAM” on Google, was directed to a WhatsApp admin, filled out an order form, transferred payment via personal mobile banking, and received delivery within an hour.
“It is used by inhaling through a nozzle inserted into the mouth. CD observed that after inhaling Whip Pink, he would bow his head and close his eyes,” he added.
