Which Decile Are You In? How to Check Social Assistance Status Using KTP NIK on Your Phone
You’re in which decile? This question has gained traction among the public following the use of decile status as a criterion for government social assistance (bansos) recipients. Through online checks, citizens can determine their decile group using only their KTP NIK on a mobile phone. Decile status in the National Social and Economic Single Data (DTSEN) is linked to eligibility for various government assistance programs, including PKH (Family Hope Program), BPNT (Nutrition Assistance Program), and BPJS Kesehatan subsidies. After the search process is complete, the system will display social assistance recipient information, types of aid received, and the decile group within the DTSEN. The lower the decile number, the lower the individual’s economic status, making them a higher priority for government social assistance. Decile data comes from the DTSEN, managed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and integrated with data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The government also updates the data periodically to ensure social assistance is targeted accurately. Decile groups are a primary reference for the government in determining social assistance recipients. Meanwhile, citizens above decile 5 are typically not prioritised for social assistance as they are deemed to have better economic conditions.
