Waste banks in Jakarta are now digitally integrated through the e-Bank Sampah Jakarta system. This system is one of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s efforts to simplify public access to waste management services while encouraging the reduction of household waste volume.
What is e-Bank Sampah Jakarta?
Based on Governor’s Regulation (Pergub) No. 33 of 2021 on Waste Banks, the development of waste banks aims to optimise the reduction of waste generation from households, businesses, and other sources. The programme involves the community in waste management based on the 3R principles—reduce, reuse, and recycle—so that sorted waste can have economic value.
Through the e-Bank Sampah Jakarta information system, the public can access various waste management services. The system contains information on the locations of main and unit waste banks, waste transaction recording, customer data management, and waste processing and recycling procedures.
