Where Allah Places His Pleasure and Wrath

The pleasure and wrath of Allah SWT are not something unknown to mankind. Al-Imam Al-Habib Abdullah bin Alawi Al-Haddad explained that by His will, Allah SWT has placed His pleasure in obedience and His wrath in acts of disobedience. Every human action is always faced with two possibilities: the pleasure or the wrath of Allah SWT. Al-Imam Al-Habib Abdullah bin Alawi Al-Haddad reminded that Allah SWT has established His will: obedience becomes the cause of His pleasure, while disobedience becomes the cause of His wrath. In the book Risalatul Mudzakarah Maal Ikhwanul Muhibbin Min Ahli Khair Wad Din, it is explained that by His will, Allah SWT has made His pleasure lie in obedience to Him. His wrath lies in acts of disobedience to Him. By His will, Allah SWT promises that whoever obeys Him will enter His paradise by His mercy, and threatens that whoever opposes Him will be cast into His hell by His justice and wisdom. Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says: ‘These are the limits set by Allah. Whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger, He will admit him into gardens beneath which rivers flow, to abide therein; and that is the great triumph.’ (QS An-Nisa Verse 13) Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala says: ‘And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger and transgresses His limits, He will admit him into a Fire, to abide therein; and for him is a humiliating punishment.’ (QS An-Nisa Verse 14) Allah SWT has commanded His believing servants to hasten towards His forgiveness and His paradise, so that they may protect themselves and their families from the fire of hell by carrying out His commands and avoiding His prohibitions.
