The 2026 Eid holiday is still ongoing until 24 March. Civil servants and private sector employees can still enjoy the long break before returning to work.

As is known, the government has implemented a Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy before and after Eid 2026 for ASN. With this WFA policy, PNS/ASN can work from anywhere without having to go to the office.

Based on Circular Letter of the Minister of PANRB No. 2/2026 on the Adjustment of Civil Service Duties for ASN Employees in Government Agencies during the National Holiday and Collective Leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, the WFA after Eid 2026 for ASN runs on:

  • Wednesday, 25 March 2026

  • Thursday, 26 March 2026

  • Friday, 27 March 2026

When Will Civil Servants Return to Work After Eid 2026?

After the 2026 Eid holiday, PNS/ASN can work from anywhere (Work From Anywhere/WFA) until 27 March 2026. After that, they will return to the office on Monday, 30 March 2026.

WFA Is Not a Holiday

Quoting from the official website of the Ministry of PANRB, the regulation on WFA for Eid 2026 ASN is not to be interpreted as an addition to holiday days, but rather as an arrangement for work flexibility to maintain the continuity of government administration and public services during the national holiday and collective leave period.

These are the things that must be noted regarding the implementation of WFA for PNS/ASN during the 2026 Eid holiday.

  1. Government agency leaders regulate the proportion of Civil Servant (ASN) employees who will carry out flexibility in civil service duties in terms of location and/or time, considering the number of employees and the characteristics of the type of government services.

  2. Government agency leaders ensure that the adjustment of civil service duties does not disrupt the smooth running of government administration and the quality of public services to the community. For this reason, all government agency leaders need to pay attention to the following:

  • Optimising the implementation of electronic-based government systems within their agencies;

  • Instructing public service provider organisations within their respective agencies to ensure that essential public services that directly impact the community remain available and accessible, including health services, transportation services, security services, and others, and to pay attention to providing services that are friendly to vulnerable groups including people with disabilities, the elderly, pregnant women, children, and others;

  • Being selective in granting annual leave by considering workload, nature, and characteristics of civil service duties, as well as the number of Civil Servants in each public service provider organisation;

  • Conducting monitoring and supervision of the fulfilment and achievement of targets and public service delivery during the national holiday and collective leave period for the Holy Day of Nyepi (Saka New Year 1948) and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah;

  • For services that apply shift/rotating work hours, rearrangements of service hours must be made and services must still be provided in accordance with service standards;

  • Actively keeping complaint channels open, both through SP4N-LAPOR! (https://www.lapor.go.id/), face-to-face complaint channels, or other media, to accommodate public aspirations, and conducting Public Satisfaction Surveys (SKM) through QR Codes at respective service units, especially those directly interacting with holiday travellers (bus terminals, train stations, airports, ports, and holiday posts) as an effort to strengthen public participation and monitoring of public service quality;

  • Providing clear information to the public if there are changes in service schedules and/or procedures for accessing public services, as well as timely resolution of services;

  • Ensuring that outputs from services conducted online or offline meet the established standards; and

  • Ensuring that Civil Servants in their respective agencies set an example by not giving and/or receiving gratuities related to their positions that conflict with their duties.

  1. In the event of an emergency, government agency leaders must ensure the quality of public service fulfilment, especially essential public services, continues to run as it should.
