When Will Cihampelas Terrace Be Demolished? KDM Reveals Timeline

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has revealed that the demolition of Teras Cihampelas will commence once the asset’s status is officially transferred from the Bandung City Government to the West Java Provincial Government. He stated that the transfer process is targeted for completion this week. “It is currently in the process of becoming a provincial asset; this week it will be finalised. Once it becomes a provincial asset, the province will handle it,” he said recently.

Meanwhile, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan confirmed he has signed the transfer of the Teras Cihampelas asset to the West Java Provincial Government. The next step involves completing the administration between the city’s asset agency and the provincial government. Verification from the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), and the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) is also required beforehand. Subsequently, the maintenance of Jalan Cihampelas and Teras Cihampelas will be collaborative.

“The collaboration is similar to how we manage Jalan Supratman, Jalan Ponegoro, Jalan Pasteur, and Jalan Sukajadi. Those are under provincial authority, but does the city government still work on them? Yes, it remains the same,” he said. He added that the first step after the asset becomes provincial property is to demolish Teras Cihampelas, followed by optimising business opportunities in the culinary and hotel sectors. He admitted he does not yet know the exact demolition schedule. The discourse on demolishing Teras Cihampelas has been ongoing for the past year. The construction of Teras Cihampelas was carried out during the tenure of former Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil.
