When Will 2026 Retiree Holiday Allowance Be Distributed? Here's Information on the Schedule and Payment Amounts
In addition to active State Civil Apparatus (ASN), Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and Indonesian National Police (Polri) personnel, retirees and pension recipients will also receive the Holiday Allowance (THR) in 2026. Many are wondering: when exactly will the 2026 retiree THR be distributed?
As of now, no official date has been announced by the government. Typically, matters concerning THR and the thirteenth salary for ASN, retirees, pension recipients, and benefit recipients are formally regulated through Government Regulation (PP), which is updated annually.
However, as of the publication of this article on Friday, 27 February 2026, the government has not yet officially issued the PP governing the provision of THR and thirteenth salary in 2026. Therefore, eligible citizens can monitor updates through various official government platforms or refer to the PP from the previous year for guidance.

When Will the 2026 Retiree THR Be Distributed?
Regarding the distribution of THR to retirees and pension recipients in 2026, confirmation must await an announcement to be delivered directly by President Prabowo Subianto. According to detikFinance, Finance Minister (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has signalled that the THR announcement will be made shortly.

The government has allocated a budget of Rp 55 trillion in 2026 to distribute THR to at least 10.5 million recipients, including active ASN, TNI, or Polri personnel as well as those who have retired.
Regarding the specific date, Finance Minister Purbaya has not provided clear details. Instead, he gave an indication that THR was planned to be distributed during the first week of Ramadan. “The first week of fasting, it will be soon,” clarified Finance Minister Purbaya at the Indonesia Economic Outlook event held on Friday, 13 February 2026.
If we refer to Finance Minister Purbaya’s indication, the first week of fasting ends today, Thursday, 26 February 2026, particularly if we refer to the government’s determination of the start of Ramadan through the isbat session. In the isbat session results, the government set 1 Ramadan 1447 H falling on Thursday, 19 February 2026.
This means the first week of fasting indicated by Finance Minister Purbaya as the planned period for THR distribution will end today. However, returning to the previous statement, the THR will be announced by President Prabowo Subianto. Therefore, those eligible to receive it can await the official government statement to be delivered through the President.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives (DPR) has also provided insight into THR distribution in 2026. According to the official DPR website, member of DPR Commission IX Irma Suryani stated agreement with the rule that THR must be paid at latest 14 days or 2 weeks before Eid al-Fitr arrives.
This rule applies not only to ASN but also to the private sector, which is expected to follow the same provision. Irma Suryani even emphasised that THR payment at latest 2 weeks before Lebaran must be enforced strictly, with sanctions for violators. “When Pak Purbaya says that for ASN because the money comes from the government, but for the private sector, what needs to be underlined is that all labour supervisors must not be careless about this anymore. They must truly be labour supervisors,” said Irma Suryani.
Irma views THR as an obligation that must be fulfilled by companies. Even payment made 7 days or 1 week before Lebaran is actually not permitted. “Even at the latest, 1 week is already not supposed to be allowed. The tolerance is clear: 2 weeks before the holiday. So if anyone violates this, there must be firmness from the Ministry of Labour to impose strict sanctions on the company,” she continued.
Within the government, rules on THR are set out in the PP. Similarly, the timeline for THR distribution is regulated in PP of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 Year 2025. Article 14 paragraph (1) states: “The Holiday Allowance as intended in Article 2 shall be paid at earliest 15 (fifteen) working days before the date of the Holiday.”
Nevertheless, in the Labour Ministry Regulation (Permenaker) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 6 Year 2016 and Labour Ministry Circular (SE) of the Republic of Indonesia Number M/2/HK.04.00/III/2025, it emphasises that religious THR must be paid at latest 7 days before the religious holiday. This rule applies to companies more broadly.
