When the Social Minister Holds Halalbihalal with Cleaning Service Staff

A warm and intimate atmosphere characterised the spontaneous halalbihalal event at the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. The simple gathering took place at Selalu Ada Kopi in the ministry’s office, attended by the cleaning service staff.

Social Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) was present and directly mingled with the sanitation workers. The event proceeded in a relaxed yet meaningful manner, beginning with the singing of the song ‘NKRI Harga Mati’, which enhanced the spirit of togetherness.

After the singing, the cleaning service staff took turns shaking hands with Gus Ipul. The moment unfolded warmly without barriers, reflecting the closeness between leadership and support staff within the ministry.

On that occasion, Gus Ipul stressed that halalbihalal need not be held extravagantly. He viewed the primary essence of the activity as strengthening relationships and mutual forgiveness.

“This halalbihalal is not merely a tradition after Eid, but also a momentum to nurture togetherness, bolster work enthusiasm, and build a warmer and more harmonious work environment,” said Gus Ipul in his statement on Thursday (26/3/2026).

He also conveyed the idea of holding halalbihalal on a larger scale involving all Ministry of Social Affairs employees. Nevertheless, the simple concept would be maintained to preserve the familial atmosphere.

Not only that, Gus Ipul proposed that each work unit could alternately showcase its creativity in the event. In his view, this could be an enjoyable way to strengthen togetherness while demonstrating inter-unit solidarity.

This simple event serves as proof that togetherness within the Ministry of Social Affairs can be built from small yet meaningful things, involving all elements, including the cleaning staff who have long played a role in maintaining workplace comfort.
