When the One-Way Toll System Will Operate on the Trans-Java Toll Road During Mudik 2026
THE GOVERNMENT, through a Joint Decree (SKB), has officially issued a traffic management scheme to safeguard the flow of Mudik and balik (homecoming) traffic for Eid al-Fitr 2026 (1447 H). The regulation aims to ensure smooth passage for millions of vehicles crossing the Trans-Java Toll Road.
- One-Way Schedule for Mudik 2026
The One-Way system will be implemented fully at the peak of the homecoming period to prioritise vehicles from the direction of Jakarta towards the east (Semarang/Solo).
- Mudik 2026 Odd-Even System
The Odd-Even rule applies to private vehicles to limit volume on the main toll road.
Main segment: Karawang Barat Toll (KM 47) to Kalikangkung Toll Plaza (KM 414).
Additional segment: Tangerang-Merak Toll Road (KM 31 - KM 98).
Homecoming period: 17 March (14:00 WIB) to 20 March (24:00 WIB).
Return period: 23 March (00:00 WIB) to 29 March (24:00 WIB).
Important: Lane sterilisation occurs 2 hours before One Way begins. Vehicles from the opposite direction will be directed off the tolled road via arterial roads.
- Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Contraflow Schedule
Contraflow is applied to increase the number of lanes at bottlenecks without completely closing traffic from the opposite direction.
Location: KM 47 (Karawang Barat) to KM 70 (Cikampek).
Peak Mudik: 17–20 March 2026 (24 hours).
Additional periods: 21 March (12:00–20:00 WIB) and 22 March (09:00–18:00 WIB).
Road Safety Guidelines for One Way
Although the One Way lane provides more space, travellers are advised to stay vigilant:
Lane changes gradually: If approaching a rest area, begin moving to the leftmost or rightmost lane (depending on rest area location) at least 2 km in advance.
Do not stop on the shoulder: The shoulder is for emergencies only. Stopping haphazardly can trigger multi-vehicle pile-ups.
Monitor Electronic Toll Balance: Ensure your toll card balance is sufficient to cover the furthest toll to avoid delaying queues at toll gates.
