When the Independence Day Ceremony Commander Was Summoned to Meet Prabowo
President Prabowo Subianto requested that all commanders on duty for the flag-raising and lowering ceremonies at the Presidential Palace on Monday (17/8) come before him.
At the Independence Day ceremony, Prabowo expressed his gratitude and admitted he was proud that the event proceeded smoothly and solemnly.
“Thank you for the orderly and solemn execution of the ceremony. I am proud of you all,” said Prabowo.
The commander on duty on that occasion was Colonel Inf Priyo Handoyo, who currently serves as the Military District Commander of 0733/Semarang City. Prabowo asked him to come forward after the ceremony.
“After this, the ceremony commander, along with all unit commanders, will report to me. Continue,” Prabowo said to Priyo.
Not only at the proclamation seconds ceremony, Prabowo also asked the three commanders on duty at the Flag Lowering Ceremony to come before him.
The instruction was given after Prabowo received a report from Ceremony Commander Police Chief Commissioner Jerrold Hendra Yosef Kumontoy that the ceremony sequence had been completed.
“Thank you for the orderly and solemn execution of the ceremony. The ceremony commander, the joint ceremony troops commander, and all unit commanders will report to me. Continue,” said Prabowo.
Jerrold currently serves as the Balikpapan City Police Chief. He had previously participated in a selection process alongside several officers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Police.
Jerrold is a son of Minahasa, born in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, who also has ties to Tondano.
He admitted he was grateful to be entrusted with representing the Indonesian National Police in the selection process for state ceremony officers.
“For me, being selected to represent the Indonesian National Police up to this point is something to be very grateful for. Many experiences have been gained,” he said.
After being lowered, the Red and White Flag was handed over by Neeltje Deliana Insjowi, the tray bearer, to Prabowo as the ceremony inspector. Subsequently, the Red and White Flag and the Proclamation text were carried back by the procession entourage towards the National Monument.
