When Prabowo Tours the Settlements Along the Pasar Senen Railway Tracks

President Prabowo Subianto visited the settlements along the railway tracks in Kramat Ward, Pasar Senen, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 26 March 2026. Prabowo toured the area and spoke with local residents.

Prabowo uploaded footage of the impromptu visit to his Instagram account @prabowo. In the 4-minute 39-second video, Prabowo is seen walking along the tracks accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and several Presidential Security Force personnel.

In his post, Prabowo stated that the area is approximately 3 kilometres from central Jakarta. “This afternoon, I toured the settlements along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta,” he said.

Prabowo expressed his desire to hear the aspirations of the local community. “Insha’Allah, we will soon build decent housing for the people in that area quickly, and it is my determination to provide decent housing for the Indonesian people,” he remarked.

At the start of the video, Prabowo entered the Gaplok Market area in Senen. The Gerindra Party Chairman walked through the shops of small and medium traders, which were closed at the time. Several residents approached the President to shake his hand.

Prabowo then proceeded to the area behind Gaplok Market, which is along the railway tracks. A number of residents present there approached the former defence minister.

While Prabowo was near the tracks, trains passed by several times. Residents shouted warnings when a train was approaching, urging people to move aside.

Prabowo was seen chatting with residents along the railway tracks. In one moment, Prabowo asked the residents, “If we build houses for you later, would you want them?” The residents affirmed the President’s offer.

As Prabowo was about to leave the area, residents crowded around him. They shook his hand and even touched the President’s back. The head of state departed in a Toyota Alphard vehicle with the licence plate B 2962 BRU.

According to the Cabinet Secretariat, Prabowo’s visit to the location was spontaneous. “This afternoon, the President suddenly wanted to see the residents still living along the railway tracks in the Senen area,” the statement read.
