When Prabowo Reminds Citizens to Prepare for Middle East War Impacts

President Prabowo Subianto has warned citizens to prepare for the impacts of conflict in the Middle East region. However, Prabowo claims that Indonesia possesses considerable strength to face these challenges.

“Due to the war in the Middle East, we must be prepared to face difficulties. But once again, we are grateful that Indonesia as a nation actually possesses strength. We have great strength,” said Prabowo whilst inaugurating 218 bridges across Indonesia through a virtual ceremony on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia’s wealth is extraordinary. For this reason, he emphasised the importance of managing the nation’s wealth and strength more effectively so it can be utilised for the people’s welfare.

“On this occasion, I simply wish to convey that our strength, our extraordinary wealth, must actually be managed even better and controlled even better,” he said.

According to Prabowo, such efforts must be accompanied by a strong commitment to fighting corruption. He highlighted the practice of abuse of authority that has resulted in leakage of state wealth.

“For this reason, I reiterate once again that we must combat corruption at every level. Corruption, abuse of authority, fraud, collusion with unscrupulous businessmen—this is what causes state losses,” said Prabowo.

“This is what causes much of our wealth to be lost. Wealth that we could use to face any disaster,” he concluded.
