When Prabowo Quotes His Favourite Song Lyrics: I Want to Live 1,000 Years Again...
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto quoted one of the lyrics from his favourite song titled “Pertemuan” by Anna Mathovani during the groundbreaking of 13 national downstreaming projects phase II in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
The lyric goes: ‘I want to live 1,000 years again’.
“Honestly, I like the words from one of my favourite songs. There’s that line in the song Pertemuan: ‘I want to live a thousand years again’,” said Prabowo, quoted from the Setpres YouTube channel on Wednesday.
Furthermore, Prabowo emphasised that peace is currently very precious.
Recalling that many wars are occurring in various countries.
“Peace is very precious. Look at the news every day. Look at the news every day. Lebanon, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan, Baluchistan. Which country is not at war? Iran. Which country is not at war? We must protect our nation. Protect our nation,” added Prabowo.
13 downstreaming projects
Danantara Indonesia officially commenced the construction of 13 downstreaming projects worth Rp 116 trillion.
CEO of Danantara Indonesia Rosan Roeslani stated that these 13 downstreaming projects constitute the second phase, following the initiation of 6 downstreaming projects at 11 locations on 6 February 2026 in the first phase.
“Continuing that momentum, Mr President, we are proceeding with the second phase of these 13 strategic national downstreaming projects,” said Rosan at the inauguration event.
He explained that downstreaming is necessary as it serves as one of the engines that can improve public welfare.
Therefore, other downstreaming projects are being prepared by Danantara. They will subsequently start the construction of national downstreaming projects phase three and beyond, totalling 30 projects.
Rosan said that these downstreaming projects are being implemented to create added industrial value, strengthen the manufacturing sector, and open up employment opportunities.
“So from the projects we are running, they will create jobs for approximately 600,000 people,” he revealed.
