According to the Decree of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership No. 2/MLM/I.0/E/2025 concerning the Determination of the Results of the Calculation of Ramadan, Shawwal, and Zulhijah 1447 Hijri, the date of 1 Zulhijah 1447 H falls on Monday Kliwon, 18 May 2026. Muhammadiyah has determined that Eid al-Adha 2026 (10 Zulhijah 1447 H) will fall on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
Here are the dates for the beginning of Zulhijah, the Day of Arafah, and Eid al-Adha 2026 according to the Muhammadiyah determination:
Throughout the world, 1 Zulhijah 1447 H falls on Monday Kliwon, 18 May 2026.
The Day of Arafah (9 Zulhijah 1447 H) falls on Tuesday Pon, 26 May 2026.

Prediction from BRIN Researchers: Eid al-Adha 2026 will be Celebrated Simultaneously
Eid al-Adha 2026 in Indonesia is predicted to be celebrated simultaneously on the same day. The prediction for Eid al-Adha 2026 is on 27 May.
A researcher from the Center for Space Research of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Thomas Djamaluddin, predicts that Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri has the potential to fall on 27 May 2026. Thomas said that Eid al-Adha this year has a high potential to take place simultaneously.
“Hopefully, Eid al-Adha 1447 H will be uniform,” said Thomas to reporters on Wednesday (13/5/2026).
Thomas explained that on 17 May 2026, the position of the hilal at sunset will be high enough throughout Indonesia and almost the entire world. Thomas said that, based on astronomical calculations, the criteria for determining the beginning of Zulhijah, whether it be Muhammadiyah, the government, or Saudi Arabia, are predicted to be met.
“Therefore, KHGT (Muhammadiyah) is the same as Ummul Quro (Saudi Arabia) and MABIMS (Government), the beginning of Zulhijah 1447 is the same as 18 May 2026, and Eid al-Adha is 27 May 2026,” he said.
Even so, Thomas said that the certainty of the determination of Eid al-Adha still depends on the results of the government’s sidang isbat. It is known that the sidang isbat will be held on Sunday (17/5).
“For certainty, we will wait for the government’s decision after the sidang isbat,” he said.
However, Thomas believes that the possibility of a change in date is very small. According to his prediction, Eid al-Adha will fall on 27 May 2026.
“Most likely it will not change,” he said.
