When Does the Ticket War for the 81st Independence Day Ceremony at the Palace Open? Prepare Your Registration
As August approaches, the public is eagerly awaiting the opening of registration for the 81st Independence Day ceremony at Merdeka Palace. Similar to previous years, the opportunity to attend the ceremony will be offered to the general public through a ‘ticket war’ system. To date, the government has not announced the official schedule for opening registration. However, citizens wishing to attend in person at Merdeka Palace can begin preparing by understanding the registration mechanism, requirements, and documents typically requested based on the previous year’s implementation.
A total of 8,100 slots for the general public have been allocated for the Proclamation Seconds Commemoration and the Flag Lowering Ceremony on 17 August 2026, which will be led directly by President Prabowo Subianto at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. Vice Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro stated that the public would have the opportunity to attend through a ticket war mechanism, as in previous years. ‘Invitations to the public are also given openly through a ticket war mechanism. So later we will also hold a ticket war for citizens who wish to participate in the Proclamation Seconds Ceremony at Merdeka Palace,’ Juri Ardiantoro said during a press conference at the Ministry of State Secretariat office on Friday (31/7/2026).
As of early August 2026, the government has not yet announced the official schedule for the opening of online registration. Based on previous years’ arrangements, registration typically opens from early to mid-August through official government channels. Given the limited quota and very high public interest, citizens are advised to regularly monitor announcements from the Ministry of State Secretariat to avoid missing out when the portal opens. Registration can be completed online via the pandang.istanapresiden.go.id website, where participants will be required to fill in personal data such as full name, national identity number (NIK), active telephone number, email address, identity photo, a recent personal photograph, and their preferred ceremony session. After submission, the committee will verify the data before issuing official invitations to successful applicants. Prospective participants must be Indonesian citizens, provide accurate data, and comply with dress codes and security regulations. The public is urged to rely solely on official government channels for information and to remain vigilant against fraudulent schemes requesting payment or personal data outside the official mechanism.
