Lebaran 2026 is predicted to fall in the third week of March. The government will hold a moon-sighting session to determine 1 Syawal 1447 H (1 Shawwal 1447 AH) or Eid al-Fitr 2026. For the Lebaran holiday, the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikdasmen) has announced the Lebaran holiday schedule for students. This was conveyed through Joint Circular from the Minister of Basic Education and Culture Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Religious Affairs Republic of Indonesia, the Minister of Home Affairs Republic of Indonesia No. 5 of 2026, No. 2 of 2026, and No. 400.1/857/SJ concerning Learning in the Ramadan Month 1447 Hijriah/2026 AD. ‘From 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 March 2026 and from 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 March 2026 are the Eid al-Fitr holidays for schools/madrasahs/early childhood education units/religious education units. During the Eid holidays, students are expected to engage in silaturahmi with family and the community to strengthen brotherhood and unity,’ reads point four of that circular. Quoting the circular, Lebaran school holidays commence from Monday, 16 March 2026 to Friday, 27 March 2026. Here are the details.
