When Does Registration for Civil Service Schools 2026 Begin? Here's the Estimated Date!
Civil service schools (Sekdin) are one of the most popular choices for higher education among SMA/SMK graduates and equivalents. As mid-year approaches, information on the registration schedule for civil service schools in 2026 is increasingly sought after.
Quoted from the SMAN 1 Seyegan website, one reason civil service schools are popular is the bonding system in several of their campuses. Under this system, graduates have a high chance of directly becoming Civil Servants (ASN) after completing their education.
In an era of increasingly tight job competition, the employment prospects promised by Sekdin make it a favourite choice for many prospective students. Thus, it is no surprise that the announcement of Sekdin selection is always eagerly awaited by many applicants each year.
Before delving into the registration schedule, let’s first look at the definition of Sekdin and what needs to be prepared for registration, quoted from the 2025 National CPNS Sekdin Selection System Registration Guide book, the SSCAN website, and the SMAN 1 Seyegan website. Read to the end, okay!
What Are Civil Service Schools?
Civil service schools (Sekdin) are higher education institutions directly managed by ministries or government agencies of the Republic of Indonesia. Their presence aims to produce professional, competent human resources ready to enter the workforce, especially in the government sector.
In addition to academic education, civil service schools also equip students with disciplinary training and specific skills tailored to the needs of the overseeing institution.
Types of Civil Service Schools
In general, Sekdin in Indonesia are divided into several categories based on the overseeing institution. Each type of civil service school has different educational focuses and objectives. Here are the categories of Sekdin in Indonesia:
- Military Civil Service Schools
This type of civil service school aims to produce prospective TNI or Polri members. The education emphasises military training, discipline, leadership, and academic abilities. Examples include the Military Academy (Akmil), Naval Academy (AAL), Air Force Academy (AAU), and Police Academy (Akpol).
- Semi-Military Civil Service Schools
Semi-military civil service schools combine academic education with certain disciplinary and military training. Graduates are prepared to work in government institutions with special duties. Some examples are the State Intelligence College (STIN), College of Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (STMKG), Immigration Polytechnic (Poltekim), and Correctional Science Polytechnic (Poltekip).
- Non-Military Civil Service Schools
Unlike the previous types, non-military civil service schools focus more on academic education and professional skills without military training. However, students are still instilled with discipline during their education. Examples of non-military civil service schools include the State Finance Polytechnic PKN STAN, Statistics Polytechnic STIS, and Cyber and Crypto Polytechnic (Poltek SSN).
Preparation for Entering Civil Service Schools
Prospective Sekdin applicants must understand various requirements related to majors, education levels, and the chosen civil service school. This is because each civil service school or study programme has different requirements according to the policies of the respective institution.
Before registering, applicants also need to ensure all required documents are fully prepared. The documents generally needed for civil service school registration include:
Family Card (KK)
Identity Card (KTP)
Diploma or certificate of graduation
High school/equivalent report card
Recent passport photo
Other supporting documents according to the provisions of the institution or civil service school being applied to.
When Is the 2026 Civil Service School Selection?
As of now, the government has not officially announced the registration or selection schedule for civil service schools in 2026. However, prospective applicants can estimate the schedule by referring to the timeline of the previous year’s civil service school selection, namely 2025.
For the 2025 civil service school selection, the registration announcement was opened from June to July 2025. Meanwhile, the registration process up to the Basic Competency Selection (SKD) stage was held from June to August 2025.
It should be noted that although the initial registration for civil service schools is conducted simultaneously, the subsequent selection stages up to the final determination of passing will be regulated by each institution according to the category of civil service school chosen by the applicant. For clarity, here are the details:
Civil Service School Registration Announcement: 28 June - 12 July 2025
Civil Service School Registration: 29 June - 18 July 2025
SKD Exam Implementation: 11 - 26 August 2025

Based on that schedule, the 2026 civil service school selection is estimated to open again in mid-year, around June to July 2026. Nevertheless, the official schedule still awaits announcement from the government and related institutions.
