When Does Nyepi Holiday 2026 Start? Here Is The Official Schedule!
Next week will see two major religious observances: Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr. The government has announced the Nyepi holiday, which coincides closely with the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday period.
According to a Joint Ministerial Decision (SKB) issued by the Minister of Religion, Minister of Manpower, and Minister for State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform, No. 1497 of 2025, No. 2 of 2025, and No. 5 of 2025, concerning National Holidays and Collective Leave in 2026, Nyepi 2026 begins on 18 March. Here are the details:
Wednesday, 18 March 2026: Collective leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1948
Thursday, 19 March 2026: Holy Day of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1948
This is followed by the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday from 20 March through 24 March 2026. The complete extended holiday period for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 2026 is as follows:
Wednesday, 18 March 2026: Collective leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1948
Thursday, 19 March 2026: Holy Day of Nyepi, Saka New Year 1948
Friday, 20 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri
Saturday, 21 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri
Sunday, 22 March 2026: Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri
Monday, 23 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri
Tuesday, 24 March 2026: Collective leave for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri
Civil Servants and Private Sector Employees Can Work From Anywhere on 16-17 March
Civil servants and private sector employees are permitted to work from anywhere (WFA) before and after the Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday. There are five days of WFA for the Eid al-Fitr 2026 period.
According to the Circular of the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment No. 2/2026 concerning the Adjustment of Official Duties for Civil Servants in Government Institutions during the National Holidays and Collective Leave for the Holy Day of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, WFA for Eid al-Fitr 2026 for civil servants is implemented on:
