The Directorate of Drug Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) at the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim Polri) arrested Erwin Iskandar, alias Ko Erwin, a fugitive methamphetamine trafficker who controlled operations in Nusa Tenggara Barat. Ko Erwin arrived at Bareskrim Polri for further questioning.

Observers at the scene on Friday, 27 February 2026, noted that the investigators transporting Ko Erwin arrived at Bareskrim at approximately 11:35 WIB. Ko Erwin appeared to be lowered from the rear door of the vehicle.

“Yes, (he) has just arrived (at Bareskrim),” said Kombes Handik Zusen, Head of Section IV at Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri, to reporters.

Ko Erwin wore a grey shirt and white trousers. His hands were restrained with orange cable ties.

Several investigators were seen assisting Ko Erwin as he descended from the vehicle. The methamphetamine trafficker was then seated in a wheelchair that the investigators had prepared.

Ko Erwin’s leg was visibly wrapped in white bandaging. Handik stated that investigators were forced to discharge their firearms whilst apprehending Ko Erwin.

“His leg was shot (because) he attempted to flee and resisted during arrest,” Handik explained.

Previously reported, Ko Erwin was captured whilst fleeing in Tanjung Balai, North Sumatra, en route to Malaysia. In addition to Ko Erwin, police also apprehended two other suspects: an individual with initials A alias G, arrested in Riau, and another with initials R alias K, apprehended in Tanjung Balai.

These two suspects were arrested for arranging Ko Erwin’s escape plan to a foreign country.

Ko Erwin was apprehended by a combined team from Section IV of the Directorate of Drug Crime (Dittipidnarkoba) Bareskrim Polri and the NIC Task Force of Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri, led by Kombes Handik Zusen and Kombes Kevin Leleury. He was captured whilst attempting to flee to Malaysia, after nearly a week as a police fugitive.

The fugitive drug trafficker was then flown to Jakarta and arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Cengkareng, at 08.00 WIB this morning under tight police escort. Ko Erwin wore a white face mask and black hat, with his hands restrained, before being ushered into a police vehicle.

Ko Erwin was arrested following his listing on the National Police’s Most Wanted List (DPO) Bareskrim Polri, issued under letter number DPO/23/II/RES.4.2./2026/Dittipidnarkoba, dated 21 February 2026.
