Wheatflour mills expanded

JAKARTA (JP): PT Bogasari Flour Mills, a unit of the
Indocement group, is expanding the annual capacity of its mills
in Jakarta and Surabaya each by 365,000 tons.

Bogasari's Director Franciscis Welirang said the expansion
projects, scheduled to be completed later this year, will
increase the capacity of the wheatflour mill in Jakarta to two
million tons and the one in Surabaya to 1.3 million tons.

The expansion, he added, is needed to meet the domestic flour
demand which is estimated to grow by more than 10 percent a year.
Total demand this year is estimated at 2.8 million tons, of which
85 percent will be supplied by Bogasari and the other 15 percent
by PT Berdikari Sari Utama in Ujungpandang, South Sulawesi.

"Bogasari will continue expanding its milling capacity to a
total of four million tons by the year 2000," Welirang said.(vin)
