WhatsApp trials its update on CarPlay

Jakarta (ANTARA) - WhatsApp has officially begun trialling a standalone app for use with CarPlay, which is now far superior to previous versions as it has entered the beta testing phase and is available via the TestFlight platform. According to Arena EV on Tuesday local time, this chat application features a new interface that provides greater convenience to users by displaying chat lists, contact information, profile pictures, and call history. This update also allows vehicle users to find contacts marked as favourites. Favourite contacts are selected directly within the phone app to further simplify making calls without the hassle of searching further. In addition, the app now supports two different contrast modes. Users can choose according to their comfort, namely light and dark modes, and it can be configured to display a separate tab for unread chats. This differs from the current WhatsApp experience on CarPlay, which only supports Siri interactions and relies on the digital assistant to read and send messages without the ability to view other aspects of the app.
